It was so much fun to go into my inner art world. I've twice attended 2 day workshops (and may be come back another time) which has allowed me really to soak into a new world with Jane’s skilful teaching skill and surrounding spectacular landscape. We were invited into her house for tea and lunch between sessions and welcoming by her partner and chooks, what a treat! Jane can facilitate anyone from beginner to accomplished artist.

“Jane’s Studio is a safe place full of creativity., peace and inspiration. In each of her pictures you can see the love for this special island. Jane shares not only her excitement for the island, the birds and the art but also many interesting stories. She enables you to create images that you never thought you could. Time stood still a little while we created works of art. And all this with a wonderful view of the sea.

“I loved this class! Jane’s excitement and passion for printmaking is infectious and we had a lot of fun! Her studio has incredible views of the water and I couldn’t help but be inspired. Informative, encouraging, and suitable for beginners up to more experienced artists. Highly recommend'“.

Since meeting Jane in Innes on a cold, wet and windy bike ride in 2020 she has welcomed me to her island and her art with a passion for nature and print making. This passion has produced a magnificent body of work that also welcomes and introduces the traveller to a community of KI characters including the Australian Fur-Seal, iconic and endangered Glossy-Black Cockatoo, Cormorants, Puffer Fish, Plovers, Pelicans, Honey-Eaters and my favourite the Southern Emu-Wren. By portraying these creatures in print, Jane manages to capture their quintessential spirit peering through a colourful veil of delicate, textured multimedia and they speak to you. You can hear the mournful and prehistoric cry of the Yellow-tail Cockatoo calling you back for another visit.

“The gel printing session at Jane’s Studio 676 was wonderful. We had the opportunity to experiment with botanical printing while overlooking the beautiful Nepean Bay. The Studio and property has a homely feel and the workshop is just as much about the experience as the product. Jane has a wealth of knowledge about all things printing and the small group size allows for easy conversation”.

“I attended a 2 day workshop under the expert guidance of passionate printmaker, Jane Evans. It was a stimulating and enjoyable experience. As a complete beginner, not only did I learn the basic techniques of cutting, inking and pulling a print, but did so in a unique location – Jane’s workshops are held in her studio, which has a stunning view over Kangaroo Island’s beautiful Nepean Bay”.
